Education is an umbrella term that encompasses formal education and informal education. While historically, formal education has been regarded synonymous with schooling, all that is done for the purpose of perfecting human nature is considered to be informal education. Both are inseparably interconnected, as their common aim is to make individuals noble and efficient members of the society.

Good education is integral or holistic. It promotes the development of the key areas of a person, such as body, mind, heart, and spirit. In his renowned book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Steven Convey speaks of these four areas as four intelligences. Physical Intelligence is personal growth of body and it develops a person’s survival instincts and helps to hone his/her vocational skills through hands on experiences and activities. Mental Intelligence is concerned with a person’s mind and enables him/her to develop his/her ability to think, reason, appraise, and analyse issues and ideas. Emotional Intelligence caters to the heart of an individual and develops in him/her the proactive capacity to handle every type of pressure in life. Finally, Spiritual Intelligence develops the conscience of a person and defines who he/she is while also defining his/her purpose on this earth.

Education is said to be a social process by means of which a community, society, or nation attempts to transmit to an emergent generation those traditional aspects of its culture which it considers as necessary for its stability and survival. The aim of education is building up a just humanitarian society through the formation of mature and responsible citizens. A well educated person is able to witness the values of equality, justice, co-operation and harmony.

The vision, mission, and objectives of St. Joseph’s School, Greater Noida, are indicative of its commitment to the integral development of children and to the creation of a global society where core values of justice, equality, respect, tolerance, honesty, loyalty, perseverance, and compassion are lived and cherished.

I invoke God’s blessings on St. Joseph’s School Family.
